Bfnews: Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalam stated that Tehran has every right to develop its nuclear energy program as it is a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
During a meeting with Iran's newly-appointed Ambassador to Tunisia, Peymen Jebeli, on Friday, Minister Abdessalam asserted his country's support to Iran's nuclear energy program.
He also pointed out that while Iran's nuclear program is strictly peaceful; the other nuclear-armed states are what represent the biggest threat on the global peace and security.
Also, Minister Abdessalam praised the Iranian culture and civilization, and stressed the need to expand ties between both countries on the various fields.
On his part, Ambassador Jebeli congratulated the Tunisian people on the first anniversary of their Jasmine revolution, which ousted former dictator Zein al-Abidine Ben Ali. Moreover, he vowed that his country is ready to cooperate with Tunisia, and transfer all its capabilities and expertise to help develop the North African country.
