Iranians show trust in Islamic system in polls
Bfnews: The Leadership Assembly of experts is responsible to oversee the performance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

"On March 2, people have indeed voted for the Islamic system," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with Head of the Leadership Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani and the body’s members.

Praising the massive presence of Iranians in the ۹th parliamentary elections, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "People’s vote was also an awakening slap in the face of those who have been hallucinating about the nature of the Islamic establishment and its future as well as the people and enemy."

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that elections are a main pillar for the Islamic establishment and noted that the religious democracy is based on elections.

So, every individual who believes in the Islamic establishment, feels duty-bound to attend elections even if he/she has any criticisms about certain issues, IR Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei further pointed to the recent claims by US President Barack Obama, who announced that he is not thinking of a war against Iran, and said such remarks are good and indicate a step out of delusions.

However, the US president has said his country seeks to bring the Iranian people to their knees by means of sanctions. This particular part of his speech demonstrates his continued illusion about the issue, said Ayatollah Khamenei.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the continuation of such illusions will backfire on US officials and fail them in their calculations.
