Bahrainis do not believe king
BFnews: "Even if he [Bahrain's king] swears on all the holy books coming from the sky that he is serious he will do real reforms, no one will believe him in Bahrain," Rashid al-Rashid said in an exclusive interview.

"This is the real situation now. We are entering the eighth month in this situation and it will continue," he added.

King Hamad had pledged to investigate allegations of human rights violations during the protests in the sheikhdom. He also vowed to "dismiss charges against some of the detained protesters and allow compensation to prisoners abused by security forces."

The king promised to reinstate employees and students who have been dismissed for participating in anti-regime protests.

However, he has failed to fulfill his promises and to propose a solution to the country's political crisis as the situation continues to worsen.

"There is a big political crisis where the people are refusing anything coming from this regime. After a number of times that they tried to solve the issue between the people and the government, the government always turns deaf ears to the voice of the people," Rashid said.

Anti-regime protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February, calling for an end to the Al Khalifa dynasty's rule.
