BFnews: During the ceremonies, speeches were delivered with regard to the philosophy of awaiting the return of the 12th Shia Imam and the spread of justice, IRIB reported on Sunday.

Hundreds of Iranians and Azeri citizens in Baku and other areas held celebrations, in which a member of Iran\'s Assembly of Experts explained the responsibilities of those who look forward to the return of Imam Mahdi.

Also, celebrators in the suburbs of Baku called for an end to anti-Islamic prohibitions in Azerbaijan, including the ban on Hijab. They also backed the innovative decision of gathering a hundred thousand signatures in support of the move.

Iranians, like many others around the world, celebrate the holy anniversary across the Islamic Republic each year.

Imam Mahdi was born almost 1,300 years ago on the fifteenth of Sha\'ban, the eighth month of the lunar calendar.
